I created this blog as an outlet of my ongoing projects, mostly which involve electronics, gadgets and other strange stuff.
For the past year (late 2012) I have been self-teaching myself electronics, arduino , boat building (didn't expect that huh?) and of course RC quad copter and planes.
It has been a fun ride I have gained quite the knowledge of learning things the "hard way" through crashing RC quads & frying electronic boards.
Starting with simple breadboard projects like this..
Blinking light and annoying sounds are so much fun. |
WTF is that? It's a light activated 'old MacDonald' tune player that syncs the notes to 3 red green yellow LEDs it is capable of playing at speeds up to 100 times a minute with its variable control and has a single button to put it in 'on top of spaghetti' mode (4 year old son's request) it's also Internet enabled so I can flash random lights from my cell phone anywhere in the world.I was going to hook it up to turn the treadmill on as an encore but I couldn't find wire thick enough that fit in the breadboard. TOTALLY USELESS PROJECT!
Moving on I purchased a RC airplane with the cheapest components I could find.
After a few months crashing my bixler and messing with various flight control, sensors, microprocessors, etc. I decided to build a quadcopter.
Brand new F450 frame /w training wheels. |
Oops!! |
Going through pictures I forgot I built a scratch built foamy "Twin cargo". However I have not been brave enough to fly it yet.
The Twins: multipurpose cargo plane. |
WTF is a foamy? It's a RC plane built from dollar tree foam board, hot glue, packing tape, toothpicks, barbecue skewers and other random items. For the most parts you download a plan (or go freestyle) print them out cut out the pieces and figure out how to slap them together. It's a lot of fun and highly experimental.
All of this in the last year..recently I have been playing with ST Nucleo Boards with MBED as I'm trying to update my arduino hacking skills to the 32bit world.
So stay tuned and relax..more to come.
Thanks for visiting.
